Snowfall, rains chill upper regions

ISLAMABAD: The rugged northern areas have come under many feet thick snow, which has cut off land routes of some parts to the rest of the country, Geo News reported.

Astore, where it snowed for hours is not accessible by road at the moment. Owing to which residents have been marooned in their houses.

The mountainous regions of Ghazar, Skardu, and Gilgit experienced scanty snowfall.

It did rain in Gilgit city but wasn’t too heavy to make things difficult for the locals.

There in Hazara Division sparse snowfall dotted the higher rocky plateaus while drizzling wetted the lower region’s undulating terrain. It’s partially cloudy up there at the moment.

Chitral’s heights also got whitewashed with snow, with its plains coming under the sheets of water sending the mercury below zero.

Also, with frosty winds blowing, it is freezing up there in the fabled hills of Murree.

Paarts of Azad Kashmir saw light showers, whereas Bagh, Rawalakot, Neelum Valley, Keel, and Lipa’s heights were splashed with snow.
